“A New Kind of Normal…”

A word from our supporter: Medtronic

I’m thrilled to be part of the first Type 1 Foundation (T1F) Newsletter by Ange McCaughley and her team. It’s a great opportunity to say thank you for what this team does for families and individuals living with Type 1 Diabetes across Australia. The passion and ongoing support for members of this group is amazing and evolutionary.

The T1F has been brilliant at adapting to the changing nature of the way we support, communicate and celebrate the T1 community. We are all acutely aware of the impact 2020 has had on us. As this reality evolves into 2021, it’s been important to be witness to the unique challenges and circumstances faced by the T1 community.  Through various communication channels and events, the T1F has been able to communicate important information to those of you in need.

Ange and her team continue to bring unique support offerings to this group – an absolute necessity as we remember the importance of connecting with each other. Please join me in thanking the T1F for all they do. This group constantly inspires me and it’s such a privilege to be a part of this community.

Working with Diabetes technology at Medtronic and being a partner with people and families living with T1 Diabetes is an ongoing passion of mine. I’m part of a tribe of dedicated individuals dedicated to our mission, to alleviate pain, restore health and extend life.

I’m so proud of our team’s willingness to “pivot, change, adapt” (and any other word synonymous with the 2020 COVID-19 experience).

The way we support health care teams and individuals living with T1 has definitely changed with the challenges the impacts of this pandemic.

Having said that, I truly feel that it’s for the better. We are now supporting more of the community with their health goals in ways we didn’t even imagine before the current pandemic. As our technology continues to evolve,  I’m thrilled to be part of a team that brings world-class breakthrough technology to those in need.

It’s exciting to see what normal looks like for those on our technology. As we all adapt and evolve to our ever changing world, I feel  blessed to be working with technology that is advancing with that change. Hybrid Closed Loop enabled by the MiniMed® 670G System ^  and now the MiniMed® 770G System ^  have brought another level of automation to our 40 year history of innovation at Medtronic Diabetes.

Thank you T1F. We appreciate your outstanding efforts.
