Tanya writes:

For those of you who don't know our story, my daughter Anna was diagnosed with Type 1 on 23rd October 2017. We walked the journey as all of you however we pivoted at the end of 2018 and transitioned Anna to the Omnipod insulin pump which we accessed from the US - this was months in the planning and not an easy process.

Fast forward to today and to say that we are excited about the launch of Omnipod in Australia is an understatement.

Presently, this insulin pump is not covered by private health insurance nor subsidised on the NDSS which makes it inaccessible for many Australians.

I am advocating to have this insulin pump treated the same as other pumps currently on the market to ensure that people who live with Type 1 have a choice in how they manage their condition.

If you would like to join me and others who have expressed an interest, please register your details at the Contact Us page of T1D Hub.
